Google Maps and Waze may get you stuck in the mud.

- FIRST, navigate to the very small town of Platanillo, Barú, 15 mins north of Dominical on hwy 243.
- THEN, navigate to Cascada Elysiana (5kms down a gravel road from Platanillo). Navigating in 2 steps avoids any chance of being sent through muddy farm roads.
- Once you arrive, park at the Cascada Elysiana "Parqueo" and follow the signs to hike the last 120 meters/yards to Reception.

However, use caution with cars low to the ground.

If modern technology fails you:

From Dominical
​
- From Route 34, go 12 km NE on highway 243 towards Platanillo.
- Turn left onto the gravel road before Platanillo (you will see our sign, and a sign for Eco Chontales)
- Follow our road signs 5 km down the unnamed gravel road to San Juan de Dios. Our driveway is on the left.
- Once you arrive, park in our "Parqueo" and follow the signs to hike the last 120 meters to Reception.

From San Isidro / Perez Zeledón
​
- From Route 2, go 22 km SW on route 243 towards Dominical to Platanillo.
- From Platanillo, turn right onto the gravel road where you see our sign, and an Eco Chontales sign.
- Follow our road signs 5 km down the unnamed gravel road to San Juan de Dios. Our driveway is on the left.
- Once you arrive, park in our "Parqueo" and follow the signs to hike the last 120 meters to Reception.
By Public Bus

From SJO Airport in Alajuela

- From SJO take an Über or pirate taxi ($10) or an Official taxi ($30) to the MUSOC bus station in San José.
note: wifi @ SJO is fairly reliable and may be sufficient for an Über if you don't have service in Costa Rica.

- From the MUSOC terminal take the bus to San Isidro de El General in Perez Zeledon (3 hours). A bus leaves about every hour and costs around $8. Be sure to have cash as they don’t accept cards. Check here for bus schedule.

OR bus to Platanillo:
- From San Isidro MUSOC bus station walk 550 meters South East to terminal Transportes Blanco. Take the bus for Dominical but exit the bus in Platanillo at the large sign for Eco Chontales (40 mins). Here is the bus schedule from San Isidro to Dominical. From here you need to go 5k down the gravel road to find us on the left.
NOTE: The last bus to Dominical leaves San Isidro at 4:00 pm. If you arrive after 4:00, you can take a Pirate Taxi to Cascada Elysiana for 15,000 colones (1-3 ppl).

- Take the bus for San Isidro and get off in Platanillo a the large sign for Eco Chontales. Check the bus schedule from Dominical to San Isidro here.

- From Platanillo, you can follow our signs and hitchhike the 5kms down the San Juan de Dios road, or use a pirate taxi.
