A COURSE IN COMMUNAL LIVING
We want your stay here to be extraordinary, impactful, life-changing. We provide classes in Radical Honesty as a means of creatively dealing with conflict, getting over our hangups, and living together more harmoniously.
In addition to our regularly scheduled community events and activities, we invite all of you to share your skills and passions with the rest of us in a community class. Lead us in yoga, meditation, dancing, capoeira, herbal medicine, basket-weaving...
whatever your skill, share it with the rest of us!
HOW A WORK-TRADE WORKS
This is not a Job.
Trained, experienced, hard-working locals earn $2.50/hour.
As an inexperienced traveler,
we would not (and by law could not) hire you for your help.
This is also not strictly Volunteering.
We are not a charity or a foundation
nor a cause for social justice.
We are a start-up of a couple of friends and dreamers
with big ideas, small budgets and a DIY attitude.
This is an Experience.
A work-trade is an inexpensive way for you to travel,
to live in community,
to learn first-hand about sustainable living,
to focus on personal growth,
to share skills with other travelers
and an opportunity to contribute to a project whose values you share.
We think we're building something pretty badass
and we want you to come get your hands dirty
and be a part of it with us!
1 month min. - $12/day (effective Jan 1, 2020)
Lodging & All Meals included
(option to extend your stay @ $10/day after the 1st month)
Your financial contribution helps us pay for:
housing, utilities, WiFi, fuel, food,
bedding, equipment & supplies, etc.
2 days off per week for traveling the area
We try to match your skills and interests to relevant projects and will guide and teach you as needed.
Help preparing communal meals
as well as regular cleaning duties counts toward your weekly hours,
even when we don't have guests.
Carve and maintain trails
Natural building projects (wood & bamboo)
Organic gardening, greenhouse and landscape, etc.
While these services do not count toward your Work-Trade hours,
qualified teachers will have the opportunity
to provide your services to the guests.
We also encourage you to share your knowledge and skills with the whole community in a community class.
NOTE: Our Work-Trade program is still under development, so details will be changing as we’re all creating and discovering the systems and patterns that work best.
